A drive to KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) was perhaps the most memorable trip of recent times for the fact that it was both pleasurable and painful. We left to this place on a weekend to visit his uncle, aunt, grand mother and his cousin. As usual, my hub was very excited to drive his then new Santro. The drive to KGF took us exactly one and a half hours and we were extremely touched by the hospitality of his uncle. I was just married and this meant a lot to me. I was so much at ease that we chatted till about 12 that night, visited a couple of places the next morning and by afternoon were ready to leave to Bangalore.
We had just left the gold mines and were somewhere near Kolar when it started pouring. I have always been very upset for the fact that my husband smokes. And that day, in spite of pleads and fights, he couldn't resist smoking in such a lovely weather. The puffs went on and on and on just to create an awkward situation between the two. Fuming over the issue, we just stopped even looking at each other's face for 1 whole day. This had got on so much to me that I decided the next day to teach him a lesson and make him feel guilty of what he had done. So, I went to this gift shop to buy him an expensive cigarette lighter and a cigarette pack expecting that he would call me and say "wow , what a way to get back to me. this is the last dear, i won't smoke again". Instead, he got back and said " wow, what a lighter dear , thanks for the gift. i am smoking away to glory." what a husband !!
